Sarah Masad, MA, TLLP
Sarah Masad is a Clinical Psychologist with a master’s degree from the Michigan School of Psychology. She is dedicated to fostering collaborate and therapeutic relationships with her clients. With a background in crisis hotline counseling and domestic violence programs, Sarah brings extensive experience in supporting those facing various challenges.
Since 2022, Sarah has facilities support circles at the Islamic Center of Detroit for middle school and high school girls, further enhancing her ability to connect with and assist young individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, and life transitions. Sarah utilizes evidence-based interventions tailored to each client’s unique needs. Her approach integrates CBT, mindfulness, and culturally competent care, aiming to empower clients to build resilience and achieve personal goals

Takween Dwaik, LLPC
Takween Dwaik is a trained counselor and psychotherapist who focuses on helping adults struggling with marriage and parenting issues. She has a bachelor’s degree in Islamic Fiqh and worked as a teacher and administrator in private schools. She pursed her master’s degree in Community Counseling from Wayne State University and transitioned into a career as a therapist. Takween combines her therapy sessions with her Islamic knowledge to offer comprehensive care for her clients.
After spending her childhodo in Gaza, Takween moved to Michigan where she has resided for over 35 years. Takween has a yearning to give back to her community. She was the first staff therapist hired by the Islamic Center of Detroit in 2021.

Aminh Kurdi, LSCW
Aminh Kurdi is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a master’s degree from Wayne State University’s School of Social Work. She has extensive training in providing care to both adults and children. Her past experiences include working in Wayne County Public Schools, nonprofit organizations focused on providing care for individuals on the Autism Spectrum Disorder, and refugee resettlement. Aminh also holds a certificate in administrating Mental Health First Aid trainings.
At MY Mental Wellness, Aminh’s goals are to create a safe space for clients to build therapeutic relationships to achieve their individual goals and to grow connections with community members.

Hani Mohammed, LLMSW
Hani Mohammed has a master’s degree in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University and has worked with individuals and families with severe mental health issues, trauma, and legal work. His clinical experience includes working with children and adults at the office, as well as at their homes. Hani is trained in trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing. He has worked with diverse backgrounds and approaches all of his clients with compassion and free of judgment. Hani hopes to empower the youth in our community by making therapy and counseling more accessible and less stigmatized.

Khalled Ismail
Khalled Ismail is a graduate student at the University of Michigan’s School of Social Work in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He serves as a student therapist at MY Mental Wellness through a student internship partnership with the University of Michigan. Coming from a Yemini-American background, Khalled has a special interest in providing culturally sensitive services to the Arab-American diaspora.
After graduating with his bachelor’s degree in criminology from the University of Iowa, Khalled worked as a parole officer in Colorado. He is the clinical liaison with Naseeha USA and serves as a peer counselor on their international helpline. as well as serves at the Masjid Facilitator for MUHSEN.

Our Team
Fatima Alemam
Fatima Alemam joined the team at MY Mental Wellness as the Program Coordinator in 2025, moving to Michigan from her hometown of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She has a bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies from Zaytouna College and holds a Diploma in Islamic Psychology from the Cambridge Muslim College. Fatima has worked as a research at the Standford University Muslim Mental Health Lab and at Maristan.
