Through our partnership with MUHSEN and the Islamic Center of Detroit, which is one of the first masajid (mosque) in Michigan to be MUHSEN-certified, we provide weekly American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for Friday sermons (Khutbah Jumu’ah), therapy sessions, and for other requested weekly and monthly programs.

Every year, MY Mental Wellness organizes Eid fairs for families with children who have special needs. We also host other events such as Autism 101 trainings, respite care workshops, art therapy, support circles for parents, SibShops, and character meet and greets for the community.

One of our goals is to bring the conversation regarding special needs and disability to the community. At the Islamic Center of Detroit, we have quarterly sermons (Jumuah Khutbah) to break the stigma against those who have additional needs. The team at MY Mental Wellness also tables frequently at the masjid to raise awareness.
